Rebooting

My second surgery (reversing my temporary colostomy) went well but the recovery has been slow. Funny how the body objects to having two major surgeries within a few weeks of each other. I’m having to learn to be patient with myself and pace myself.

I’m still spending a lot of time sitting around, but at least I’m more mentally alert so I’ve been reading a lot, and (I admit) playing a lot of online solitaire and hidden object games. It finally dawned on me that if I’m well enough to play games, I should be well enough to write. So here I am. :-D

It’s been what, three? four months since I’ve done any serious writing? And the writing wasn’t going all that well prior to that, although I did get the first round of edits done on Blood Ties.

So . . . time to get back in the saddle – set some goals, dust off my editing hat, check out some new prompts. That's what I'll be working on this week - getting myself organized and working out some kind of a schedule.

There was a meeting of the CPW (my poetry group) last week – we gathered down at the waterfront and a good time was had by all. I actually wrote some new poetry to share and it got me thinking that maybe I should do more of that. So starting this week, the first Fiction Friday of the month will be a poetry post.

Not sure if I’m going to dive back into my non-fiction Wednesdays yet or not, we’ll have to see how it goes.

One step at a time, but at least I’m stepping forward again.
